Maureen FitzSimons, better known as Maureen O'Hara in America, was a child prodigy. As a person with Irish roots, surrounded as her by talented parents and family did this naturally. Maureen was welcomed into the sanctity of family on August 17 1920 located in Ranelagh (a suburb within Dublin), Ireland. Marguerita FitzSimons' mom, Lilburn, was an contralto. Charles FitzSimons was a successful businessman from Dublin who also owned a piece of the Irish Shamrock Rovers, a soccer club in Ireland. Maureen was the second child of six FitzSimons children - Peggy, Florrie, Charles B. Fitzsimons, Margot Fitzsimons and James O'Hara completed this beautiful family. Maureen was a fan of rough and sports as a kid and excelled in sports. Her talent for performing perfectly complemented her interest in sport. She was the recipient of nearly all the Feis awards for her native nation's theatre and drama proved this. In her 14th year she enrolled in at the Abbey Theater to follow her goal of studying the classical theater and operatic singing.
